Books are wonderful vehicles for so many things, and can become so much more than a stack of paper.
They're not just for education or pleasure either - the book format is useful in business too.

Because it is impractical for this national distributor to host a major event in all of its zones each year, Buying Books are produced in lieu of hosting massive exhibitions and floor shows (rotating each year which zones have full shows and which have books). Vendors purchase space in the publication featuring product promotions and event-level discount pricing, which is mailed to regional retailers. Books are themed, much like shows, to engage with partners and buyers. In a fun play on the season and timing of the mailing, I designed the football theme cover shown.
I designed the interior layout template to include a perforated edge to make tearing out pages for scanning and submitting orders clean and easy rather than fighting the spiralized spine.
I gave the 2019 Fall Buying Book a calming nature theme for both the Central and Ohio Valley distribution zones, as their books were running concurrently. Factoring in feedback about the 2018 South Fall Buying Book (perforation was not popular amongst retailers), the construction was switched to a tear-off pad with a glue spine and a sturdy board as the back cover in order to improve ease of use for retailers who like to scan in their orders.
On the left page is an indexed list of brands featured in the 2019 Central Fall Buying Book. On the right appears the first of many promotions contained inside. I designed the template and populated the content for the entire book cover-to-cover, a total of 299 pages! I assembled and edited the content pages for this and the Ohio Valley companion book (another 168 pages) at the same time, finishing both in just 14 business days.
